The Tea Leaf is run with one very simple objective - to introduce western audiences to the freshest hand picked loose leaf tea that China has to offer. Our mission is to source you unique and extraordinary teas that are barely known, let alone drank outside of China, and in turn open your eyes to the sheer joy and well being that can be achieved from the regular consumption of Chinese tea. 

From our base in Xiamen (also known as Amoy) in the south of China's premier tea province, Fujian, we at the Tea Leaf are fantastically positioned to bring you a slice of China's historic artisan tea culture. By traveling regularly to meet with our tea producers, we ensure that the tea we send to you is of the highest quality, vacuum sealed at its point of origin.

As we continue to explore the seemingly endless varieties of tea that exist throughout this country, we hope to share with you our discovery, long known by the Chinese, that tea is more than just a drink. It not only quenches thirst, but cleanses the body and sharpens the mind. Tea plays an important role in Chinese medicine, food, family traditions and even religion. Each cup of tea represents the 'terroir': the people that produced it and the culmination of four thousand years of tradition and innovation.
